Delicious Air Fryer Fish

Air Fryer Fish with roast potatoes and cherry tomatoes, makes a delicious dinner recipe. This is an amazing and a quick recipe that calls for marinated basa fillets and veggies of your choice.

I’ve used basa fish for this recipe, which is low in calories and high in proteins, however if this recipe is prepared with salmon or tilapia it would taste just as good!!

The best part about this Air Fryer Fish recipe is you don’t need fancy ingredients to marinate the fish, just a handful of basic spices available at home. Ideally there are no measurements for any ingredients, however, I have shared the measurements below but feel free to adjust the spices and flavors as per your taste. One can add veggies of choice and this delicious Air Fryer Fish is ready in less than 30 minutes.

Air fryer basa fillet is perfectly crisp on the outside edges and super juicy and moist in the inside. This dish would also make a delicious side if served with some flavored rice or even some warm soup to go with it.

Method for Air Fryer Fish

  • In a mixing bowl, add basa fillets and all above ingredients mentioned above for the marinate. Set it aside for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cut the potatoes in small cubes of around 2 inch and the cherry tomatoes in two halves.
  • Pre heat the air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 05 minutes.
  • Place a baking sheet or parchment paper and layer the marinated basa fillets evenly and air fry it for 10 minutes at 180°C (356°F).
  • While the fish is air frying, drizzle little oil on the potatoes and tomatoes, sprinkle some salt and pepper, this is optional.
  • After 10 minutes, carefully turn the fish over, making sure it does’t break. Add in the potato cubes and cherry tomatoes and pop it back into the air fryer for another 10 minutes.
  • I wanted some charred grilled look on the fish, so I increased the temperature to 200°C (392°F) and air fried these for another 2 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can you cook fish in an air fryer?

Cooking fish in an air fryer is one of the best choices I made. There’s less oil and less splattering of oil and no smelly house. If you wish for a hassle free cooking, I reckon you use an air fryer. You can cook any type of fish in your air fryer, be it salmon, cod pr tilapia.

How long do you cook fish in the air fryer?

You can cook the fish in a pre heated air fryer for 10 minutes at 180°C (356°F) and flipping it over for another 10 minutes. Every air fryer is different, so if your air fryer cooks faster you may want to keep a watch after 15 minutes. I personally like charred marks on the fish, so I air fry it for another 2 minutes increasing the temperature to 200°C (392°F).

Can I freeze the marinated fish?

Yes, you can marinate the fish fillets and store it in batches or all together freezing them for 3-4 days in a freezer bag. I prefer using it fresh if I have purchased already frozen ones from the store, but yes, you can freeze them after marinating it and use to prepare any of your favorite dish.

What can I use for lining my air fryer?

Parchment paper or baking sheet is the best to use for lining your air fryer. When I had newly purchased my air fryer, I thought the silver foil would work the best, but no, I would now only prefer the parchment paper as it keeps the air fryer basket clean and also tender meats don’t stick to the bottom unlike when using the silver foil.
